Volunteer at Connexion

The Connexion Closet provides free clothing and household goods to our neighbors in East Somerville and beyond. Volunteers help collect donations, sort and organize items, and staff the closet during open hours.

Roles: Donation collection, sorting and organization, closet staffing
Times: Tuesdays and Fridays, 10:00 am – 3:00 pm; Wednesdays 11am-6pm

Every Wednesday, Connexion hosts a community meal for our neighbors. Volunteers help pack food and hand out meals as part of this weekly act of care and solidarity.

Roles: Food packing, food distribution

Connexion's building is home to many community groups throughout the week and on weekends. We need a reliable team of key holders who can open and lock up the building for groups using the space. This role is flexible and sporadic — we call on you as needs arise.

Roles: Building opener and closer for community groups
Times: Flexible; often weekends and evenings

Connexion is open as a welcoming community space — and it takes people to make a space feel alive. Community Hosts help hold the space when Connexion is open, offering a warm presence for whoever walks through the door.

In partnership with East Somerville Main Streets, the Community Bites Meal Voucher Program connects neighbors with local restaurants through a weekly voucher distribution. Volunteers hand out vouchers to community members on Tuesday and Thursday mornings. Additional language capacity in Spanish or Portuguese is especially welcome.

Times: Tuesdays and Thursdays, 10:30 am – 12:30 pm
